Objectives of M-SETI

To transform the unemployed youth to acquire productive identity.
To assist the unemployed youth to take up self employment ventures as an alternative career.
To promote entrepreneurship.
To empower the unemployed youth to share economic progress equitably.
To continuously follow the trainees as regards their improvement, settlement, counseling them for Bank facilities etc.

Selection Procedure :

Joint Director of M-SETI participates in the gathering of unemployed youth at Block Level Meets. Candidates are selected after detailed interview.
Unemployed youth visit the Institute on an ongoing basis. Selection is made based on interview at the institute also.
Participation in the awareness programmes organized by NGOs.

Eligibility Criterion for Selection of candidates for Training :

Age : 18 to 35 years (relaxable on merit)
Education : Minimum S.S.C. or equivalent (relaxable on merit)
Registration with Employment Exchange preferred.
Experience : Primary knowledge of the proposed activity preferred.
Applicants for loans under Government sponsored schemes are preferred.
Applicant should be unemployed.
Applicant should have an aptitude towards self employment.

Training Courses offered

Radio T.V., Tape recorder – Repairs and Maintenance.
Domestic Electric Appliances Repairs and Maintenance and electrical wiring.
Motor rewinding.
Two wheeler repairs and maintenance
Videography and photography
Tailoring for female
Beauty Parlour for female
Tailoring for male.
Entrepreneurship Development Programmes for PMRY Loanee.

Proposed new courses in the year 2004-05.

Mobile Repairing and Servicing.
Bakery
Beauty Parlour for male.
Banner Painting and wall painting.

Duration of the Courses.

TEDP - 27 days
EDPs - 13 days

Post Training Follow–up.

Post Training follow-up shall be made with the participants for a period of two years after the course.
Guidance shall be provided for availing financial assistance from Banks / Financial Institutions.
Guidance shall also be provided for completing other formalities for starting a new unit.

Fees for the Programme :

M-SETI conducts the programme free of cost.
Arrangements for lodging and boarding of the participants are also made by M-SETI free of cost.
